- Document Information: Names, identification numbers, expiry dates, categories of personal documents (e.g., ID card, driver’s license, NUIT).
- Account Information: Email address (if you register or sign-in with third-party services such as Google).
- Support & Communication: If you contact us by email or in-app support, we may collect your email, name (if provided), and the content of your inquiry.
b) Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, app version.
- Usage Data: Frequency of use, features accessed, and interactions within the app (for analytics and performance).
- Crash & Diagnostic Logs: Collected to improve app stability.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the Service and core features (e.g., document expiry reminders).
- To enable cloud backup and recovery.
- To improve app performance, fix bugs, and enhance user experience.
- To respond to customer inquiries and provide technical support.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
- For analytics to understand aggregate usage trends (non-personalized).
We do not use your personal document data for marketing or advertising.

- Service Providers: Supabase, AWS, Postgres, Google Analytics. These providers process your data solely to help us operate the Service and are bound by strict confidentiality and security obligations.
- Business Transfers: In case of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request, or to protect our rights, safety, and users.
4. Data Storage and Retention
- Local Storage: By default, all personal document data remains encrypted and stored locally on your device.
- Cloud Backup: Your data is encrypted before transfer and stored securely on third-party cloud servers.
- Retention: We keep your data only as long as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law. If you delete your account or delete a document, your data will be permanently deleted from our servers.
5. Security
We implement industry-standard safeguards, including encryption, authentication, and secure data storage practices, to protect your personal information. However, no online or mobile service is completely secure. We continuously monitor and improve our defenses.
6. Children’s Privacy
MyDok is not intended for children under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that a child under 13 has submitted personal information, we will delete it immediately.
